writing into the day - is the book or movie better?

The book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green was recreated into a movie directed by Josh Boone. Many people equally enjoyed both the book and movie. Although, I enjoyed the book more I believe that the movie served some constraints that outweigh my opinion on the book being more satisfying. For example, the movie gave me a real visual on the characters and put a face to the people i was reading about. Also, the book was very descriptive about the main characters cancer and the struggles she went through but the movie gave me a real understanding of how dramatic and how much it effected her life.

Books are enjoyable because the reader can create their own interpretation of the imagery created throughout the book, but a movie can give the entire audience exactly how the author wanted the individuals and the scenery to really look like. Sometimes in books the connection between characters is not as passionate as it can be in a movie. Overall a visual can be way more effective than text based. Most books would be considered better than the movie but the movie can always help the reader push their imagination and love for the story more.
